Art of the Day privacy policy
Last updated .
Proper Applications Studio LLC operates Art of the Day. This policy covers the app, its widgets, and its companion Apple platform apps.
Accounts, advertising, and tracking
Art of the Day does not require an account. The app does not use advertising identifiers, analytics SDKs, tracking, location services, contacts, or user profiling. We do not sell your information.
Information stored on your device
Favorites, viewing history, settings, cached catalog responses, and cached images stay on your device. Widgets use Apple's shared App Group to read the local artwork cache. This information is not uploaded to a Proper Applications account or synchronized to a developer-controlled account.
Network requests
The app requests catalog data from the Art of the Day catalog service and images from public museum collections. Requests may include search terms, dates, filters, artwork identifiers, and pagination values to return the content you request. These requests are not tied to an app account and are not used to build a profile of you.
Our hosting provider and museum services receive standard technical request information, such as an IP address, request time, and requested URL. Our catalog service uses operational logs to run and troubleshoot the service. Network providers and museum services may process technical information under their own privacy policies.
The app does not intentionally send names, email addresses, contacts, precise location, or camera images to the catalog or museum services.
Camera and Photos
On iPhone and iPad, the optional "View in your space" feature uses the camera and on-device augmented reality to preview artwork on a wall. Camera frames are processed on your device and are not uploaded to Proper Applications.
Saving artwork to Photos requires your permission to add an image to your photo library. The app does not read or upload the contents of your photo library. You can manage camera and Photos permissions in your device's Settings.
Third-party services
Public museum collections supply artwork metadata and images. Museum websites and services have their own privacy policies. Opening a museum link takes you to that museum's website, which may handle information differently from the app.
Children
Art of the Day does not ask children or other users to create an account or provide personal information to use the app.
Retention and deletion
You can remove favorites in the Library and clear viewing history in Settings. The app refreshes and removes cached content as it manages its local cache. Operational logs are subject to our hosting provider's retention limits. To request deletion of information you have sent us by email, contact the address below.
Privacy questions and support
Email hello@properapplications.net for privacy questions or help with Art of the Day. If you contact us, we receive the email address and information you choose to include so we can respond to your request.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy when the app or its data practices change. The current policy is available on this page, with its update date shown above.
